This is so horrifying, I can barely fathom it. Tim, I suspect you're right... and Inspector, I could not possibly agree more. :(

As trite as it sounds, my thoughts are truly with the victims of today's dreadful crash, and their friends and families.

I am watching the live feed from loadtv, and the media seem to be having a good time yukking it up while they try to tape a bunch of microphones together. Real class act, those guys.

I was planning to go to Reno again this year but at the last minute couldn't make it. Now I'm glad I didn't.

Everyone involved with high performance machinery be it cars, airplanes, or motorcycles has had their life touched by loss, and I am no exception.

Peace be with all those involved and all those concerned. We are a small community and what is felt be one is felt by many.

My heart is aching right now, for all of us...

Just saw another angle. Appears that he pulled up to the right out of the track, rolled over, and went in almost vertically. The point of impact looks like the ramp about 75 feet in front of the VIP seating area. The debris field didn't look like there was anything bigger than about 2 feet in size - nothing that remotely looks like part of an airplane. The folks on the ground had no chance to get out of the way, it happened so quickly.

Thoughts and prayers ...

I just got back to my room from the races at Stead. It was bad.

As expected, FOX is now trashing the air races.

I used to go to the races with my T-6 friends. The last one was Jerry McDonald's mid-air a few years ago.
I just have no interest in going and if this is the end I for one won't lose any sleep over it. To much risk for
no real purpose has I've seen enough violent death in my lifetime. :(

Thoughts and prayers to the families and the survivors. This has to be the WORST(most accidents) airshow season I can recall. I hate to say it, but I think the airshow circuit should stand down until next year. I am horrified- I can not even count all the airshow incidents this year- the toll in performers & aircraft has been terrible. I love vintage aircraft, and flying- to see the way this year has unfolded has been very disheartening...

Sadly ,
Scott
