Glad they're ok!

It would be a real shame to have to part it out. :( To my untrained eye, it seemed like far worse have been rebuilt, but I'm certainly no expert!

I'm no expert either but I imagine it may not be a case of not being rebuildable but a matter of not being economical to do so. As Jack Cook posted it may be cheaper to strip off the useable stuff and incorporate it into a different airframe.

Accordingly news on French forum and newspaper, the owner is pessimist about rebuilding the plane.
Real analyse or a short lacks of motivation after have to see his plane in this condition ? that's the real question... ;-)

Well, owning a warbird, is not just a walk along the flight line, there is some much potential for FOD and collisions. I think if I would have owned this beautiful fallen bird, I would have puked my guts up seeing her on the ground like that. Having the bucks (if I had them) my first qustion would be, "is anyone hurt?" second question would have been, what will it cost to get her back in the air? The cost of repair is astro-Frickin-nomical, but if one is into the warbirds and can afford it....then maybe he'll rebuild her. Sure would hate to see her parted out
