Any chance a F7F Tigercat will be coming ?? How about the only Fury flying ?? Also would be great seeing them in the in the Legacy Parade.

I would LOVE to see both the F7F Tigercat and the FJ-4B Fury come to Thunder Over Michigan, but I think funding to bring either of these west coast/mountain west airplanes to the show is likely problematic. I would love to see an AD/A-1 Skyraider in the mix for Thunder also, but it just may not be able to happen. There is a Tigercat scheduled for Oshkosh and based on many visits in past years, it is possible that Dr. Rich Sugden is bringing his Fury to Oshkosh also.

Unless arrangements could be made to have the Tigercat and the Fury (IF it's coming to Wisconsin) go a little further east to Michigan the weekend prior to Oshkosh, it is very unlikely they could make it. The Fury was at Thunder in 2005 (first weekend in August, the first time I saw it), and I am not sure if it came from Wisconsin after hanging around there after Oshkosh that year or not.

As it stands now, the lineup for Thunder is outstanding, and the Legacy Parade promises to be one of the best, if not the best flying displays of vintage Naval warbirds in the U.S. this year. I would love to see additional warbirds and I have not given up hope yet, but I suspect for a number of reasons we are very near to a final list of aircraft attending this GREAT warbird air show display. Just 7 weeks to go!

I am super pumped! I don't want to sound like I am complaining at all (because I'm not!), but I was really hoping to see a Tigercat. I have not seen one fly yet and when I heard about the show, I thought for sure they would have one. But I certainly understand logistics and the enormous costs of getting one to come from out west

Well done on the aircraft list and I can't wait to go!

Aircraft list updated to-day - June 6, 2011, the 67th Anniversary of the Invasion of Normandy!

I cleaned up the thread of the "off-Topic" chat that was taking over this thread.

If anyone has a topic to discuss please feel FREE to start a new thread and not hijack one in progress. AND PLEASE MAN-UP and SIGN YOUR REAL NAME TO IT. There are way to many faceless attacks on the net and I will do my best as a MOD to prevent WIX from becoming another place harboring such cowardly acts.

The AF-2S Guardian is off the list now? :(

On the bright side, I just got July 22-24th confirmed off work. Looks like I can fly down after all! :supz:

You know, it looks like you are right - the AF-2S Guardian is NOT on the June 6 update. Sorry to hear that it may not be there now, I think this is one of the aircraft that may have been touch and go to be ready to fly by the show dates. Hopefully Michael or Kevin can give us some confirmation on this one way or the other.

While I will miss the Guardian if it's not there, I would be very happy if a Skyraider took its place......

Too bad about the Guardian not being ready. Maybe a future TOM.

And I agree, a Skyraider would make a nice replacement. Perhaps Cavanaugh can bring theirs along with the FG-1D. I'm sure whatever the TOM crew comes up with will be cool.

It is indeed unfortunate the Grumman Guardian will not be at T.O.M. this year. It is an ambitious restoration that simply ran out of time. On the bright side, Jimmy Leeward will be at the show flying Jack's P-51B in the European ground battle scenario each day. Jimmy's Mustang flying is pure joy!

Cheers,

Tom Walsh.

Shannon and I will not be attending ToM this year due to "Budget Cuts" I have imposed, even though we are about to spend the most money we ever have.

The one thing I did do back in December was buy tickets for the show while they were on sale. Now I dont need them.
I bought 2 parking passes and 4 admission tickets. I am just looking to get the cash back that I spent, a total of $80.20

Let me know if you are interested, we can make arrangements to get them sent via mail or whatever.

(I am so looking forward to seeing everyones pics from the show.)
