I didn't realize the K-MAX trainer was still in service. Is this a recent photo of N43FK, Kid? I reckon "rotor blade life" restraints will never be a problem for this bird!

What a great thread, thanks all for posting pics!

I remember Kaman Huskies flying out of Ellington when I was a kid, and seem to recall they gave off puffs of exhaust smoke at intervals. I mean, you'd watch one flying over for a while, then .... puff! Fly along for a little while and .... puff! And so on. Now, every time I see a photo of one of these things I wonder if I am remembering it correctly, or if there was just too much sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll in the 70's and now my brain is hallucinating?

Huey's give the same little "puffs" as the fly also... they both share the T-53 engine, and that is what they do at every power setting change.
