This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The Shah recieved surgery at Cornell in New York. Presumably, he went on to Wilford because of security issues surrounding him which the USAF could control, Bill.

Very cool to be able to see it being painted! one question though. Why isn't it being painted gear up on jacks?

Why isn't it being left in T-Bird colors ?
(I know its a moot point I am just in a crappy mood)

From experiences I've had painting aircraft and particularly warbirds is that it seems you can never fine all the nooks and crannies that overspray blows into with the wheel wells and by time you do all the cleanup afterwards - I found it easier just to bag the wheel wells... It's been a few years since I painted, but that's my two cents worth from what I remember... That looks like a fun paint job to work on and can't wait to see it finished... Mike

Tom, we're adding the jet to the CF Viet Nam Memorial Flight.
As it has been pointed out previously, the TBirds have a little group currently flying that honors them everyday !

http://collingsfoundation.org/enews/ene ... rch.11.htmI sure wish I could be down there on March 29 to see Colonel Day flying in the F-100F Super Sabre. What a fantastic formation planned with the F-4D, F-100F, TA-4F, T-33 and UH-1.

Hey All!
We are going to start shooting the paint on the F-100F in about an hour or so (9:30 CST). We are prepping it right now and will start to layout the camo pattern soon. Sorry for the ads on the live feed. The price paid for the free server!!
We have three cameras running. Hope you all "tune in"
Thanks
Eric
