John, I once went to Willford Hall when I was there in basic training at Lackland. I would think that Willford is not primarily a cancer center and that the Shah would have gone to a civilian hospital that was more expert, such as M D Anderson in Houston.

The Shah recieved surgery at Cornell in New York. Presumably, he went on to Wilford because of security issues surrounding him which the USAF could control, Bill.

From experiences I've had painting aircraft and particularly warbirds is that it seems you can never fine all the nooks and crannies that overspray blows into with the wheel wells and by time you do all the cleanup afterwards - I found it easier just to bag the wheel wells... It's been a few years since I painted, but that's my two cents worth from what I remember... That looks like a fun paint job to work on and can't wait to see it finished... Mike
