I took a student to New Smyrna Beach, FL airport, and on the northeast corner of the airport, I noticed a DC-3 and a B-17, but when I took off, I found there was 2 B-17s, DC-3, and a B-24. Anyone know how long they will be there for? I need to get there and see them.

That would be American Aero Services' facility. The B-17 with the yellow tail is Chuckie, and she'll be there for a couple of months having some restoration work done. The other '17 and the '24 are the Collings bombers. I dunno about the DC-3.

Looks like some pretty fancy tug work getting all of those heavies into what looks like a tight spot.

Wow... too many beautiful airplanes it too little square feet. Come on... spread around the wealth!

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I wish I could stumble upon such a site. Then again I may find myself flying into CYYJ (Victoria) and find a P-40, Mosquito, and PBY... I doubt they'd park them as close as that though... ;)

Peace,

David M

I just found out that Chuckie will be at the TICO Warbird Airshow this year. This show is held in Titusville Florida in March. I will be there. :)

NINE Oh NINE and WITCHCRAFT! I want you to TIGHTEN UP that formation! When MY waist gunner looks out, I want him to see YOUR wingtip close enough he can change the lightbulb! We may only be TAXIING, but a TIGHT FORMATION is ESSENTIAL to the success of this mission...

SAVAGE.
