S-2 Based in Beverly, MA???

Tue Jun 29, 2010 12:03 pm

I am looking at this location...
ImageAerial Visuals - Location Dossier - - C-1, MiG-15, UH-1

...more specifically the C-1 currently noted at Site C...
ImageAerial Visuals - Airframe Dossier - Grumman C-1A Trader, s/n 136788 USN, c/r N6788

Is this S-2 currently based at this airport? If not where exactly is it?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Mike

Been rolling past the thing for years. It hasn't moved. If you go to Goggle Maps and plug in Beverly airport, Beverly Ma, select satellite view and zoom in roughly midway on 16-34, you can see it sitting at the end of a defunct runway (Now taxiway Foxtrot).

I will say that someone seems to keep it painted as, at least the front, seems to look pretty good.

The latest GE image shows it at the location you have mentioned. However Bing Maps doesn't show it at this location, or the previous location on the ramp near the MiG-17, but Bing does not provide dates for their images. I was wondering if it had flow off. When was the last time you spotted it?

Last time I saw it was about a week and a half, or so, ago.

I can tell you that it's most definitely NOT where the MIG is - that's the other side of the airport. Nor has it been located there for years.

That info is about as solid as it gets. Thanks!
