This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

From the Chino thread......
The gleaming P-51D, 44-74202, is Jack Croul's second P-51D, having been restored by Allied Fighters and fitted out by West Pac.
In actuality it was restored for Jack Croul/ Allied Fighters by Mike Brashears of Vintage fighters in Caldwell Idaho and re-assembled to date by Allied Fighters in Chino

Thanks for the correction, Jack. So, with that plane out of the shop, does that mean they can concentrate on "Dottie Mae"?

Actually, this airplane was sent to Westpac after the majority of the metal work was done in Idaho. It was assembled to a few months shy of flight testing before being disassembled and trucked back to allied fighters in chino to be finished and flight tested.

True but also not true. Sorry I can't be more forecoming but
that's what you have to do in a public forum sometimes!

I did notice that the *public* at Chino over the weekend moved the stanchion by the prop supporting the rope around the aircraft so they could get pics of them either holding or leaning on the prop. I moved it back 5 or 6 times over the 2 days as I walked past.
