More here: http://www.abc15.com/content/news/south ... bm1AQ.cspx

The wingtip shown on the runway looks like the same colors as Su-Su - which matches the registration. :x
Looks like they were fairly active with charitable stuff as well.

That would be 44-84850 N514NH "Su Su" if the details in the article are correct.... sure hope no one on the ground was hurt, although it does sound like those in the aircraft were lost, unless they baled out. Very sad news...

You don't see too many P-51s with the OD paint scheme and USAF style markings with the red bars.

They flew a couple of low approaches at Chandler Municipal airport just before heading back to Stellar, I was watching it from my house and everything looked and sounded ok...... Very sad.

I heard that he bounced on the landing and added power. I think that’s Ron Pratt’s hanger that he crashed into. I heard that his wife was there watching the whole thing as well….. very very sad :(

Just got home. Shocked! :( Never seen the plane before. Sorry for the loss! Prayers out to friends and family. A tragic day in warbirds.

Regards,
Nathan
