Long time lurker, first time poster.

I just want to start by saying that this is a great site and I look forward to interacting and learning from all of you great folks on this forum. I don't have nearly the experience or knowledge that some of you guys have, but I hope I'll be able to make my own small contributions to the discussions. Unfortunately, I don't have much hands-on time with warbirds, but I've been interested in them since I was a little boy listening to my grandpa's stories from WWII.

Now, for your viewing pleasure, here's some examples of profile art I've done (only as a hobby; I'm not good enough to sell this stuff!)

P-51H "Louisiana Heat Wave" on display at Octave Chanute Air Museum

P-51D "Louisiana Heat Wave" as it appeared in WWII. Both plaes were flown by Capt Claude Crenshaw.

B-17F "Knockout Dropper"; 1st aircraft to complete 25 missions in the Eighth Air Force

B-17F "Mary Ellen" My grandfather was a bombardier in the 550th Bomb Squadron, 385th Bomb Group. This was the crew's first plane, which they flew across the Atlantic. Upon reaching England, it was immediately turned in to a modification depot and they were assigned the "Mary Ellen II" (picture in my avatar)

P-51D "Lil' Daddy" of the 20th Fighter Group

Another Mustang, this one from the 4th Fighter Group

Welcome to WIX! Don't worry about not having a lot of warbird experience, some of the best contributions to the site come from good questions being asked!
