I think I missed something. The Tucano is in Canada now but recieved a US reg? Where is it parked?

The posting was off the transport canada website. The Nreg was it's former N beforbeing imported into Canada

There are 20+ Tucanos sitting in storage in AZ. The guys that are selling them had one on display up at Reno last year. VERY nice airplane.

Oh I get it. Well there is a new test pilot school that has set up shop in Carp, ontario just outside of Ottawa. Maybe they bought it.


I found the website of RS Warbirds in Phoenix, Arizona with lots of pictures of the ex. RAF Tucanos for sale.

Astoundingly cool! I've been trying to keep track of these planes ever since they popped up on the surplus market in the UK a few years back. I love it when the "will of the warbird spirits" works out exactly as I hoped they would.

The Tucano has got to be one of the most unapologetically gorgeous warbird designs on the civilian market, easily equal to the L-39 in my opinion. The fact that the lion's share of available airframes has found their way to the US warbird market under the auspices of a top notch custodian thrills me to no end. I hope to see every last one of them living out a long and prosperous life on the circuit. They are the truly the modern incarnation of the AT-6 for the modern generation.

BTW, does anyone know what the asking prices for these are?

Did it pass by Toronto last week? I was at work when something turboprop-powered did a fast low and over and vanished into the distance before I even saw it. I was wondering what it could be until I remembered this thread. I wonder...

What you saw was one of four Beech (Raytheon) Texan 2 (PC-9) on delivery flights from the Beech Factory. Last year a few had gone through Toronto on delivery flights to Israel. I assume these are also part of that order.
