Anyone know what Paul Allen is up to in regards to his B-17E? It sure would be nice to see this Flying Fortress in the air.

The tail gunners position has been restored to about the trailing edge of the elevators and shines like it was going in a car show, the drag it out every now and again from inside the FHC display hanger-beyond that, WFK? things get done there on some sort of cosmic clock arrangement, the two seat A6M has been what looks like about three long weekends away from ready to fly for going on three years now-odd group of folks over there.

Inspector, what do you think about John Penney being over there now? Has he brought about a lot of positive change to FHC?

I feel it's a very positive move in the correct direction. As it opened and in the time before J.P. the place seemed to just 'be' and no one seemed to really have the reins-that appears to be changing and I look forward to things becoming more and more positive @ FHC.

Are they going to keep it in Bare Aluminum or paint it in OD?

Interesting question. I think that the only B-17E that was NMF was the first one. After that they were all painted. I do have to admitt that I like it in the BMF though.
