From the angle of these shots, they were taken on a stand. They do not look like they were taken from the ground up.

Yep, or out of the bed of a truck. Dr. Eugene Gillum (an engine mechanic in the 331st Group) and another fellow ran around the 315th Wing apron on Guam at the end of the war and took some awesome color photos of nose art, mostly of 315th airplanes. Dr. Gillum said they just drove up to one they wanted to photograph, stood up, and clicked the shutter.

Well, 12 and 13 appear to be of a CONUS trainer and crew. Notice the two-story barracks in the right background of photo 13. I think those two pictures may have been taken at Maxwell AAF, as Maxwell was one of a very few CCTS stations that had more permanent structures. Possibly MacDill, I'm just not certain about the 3rd Air Force stations.

Great photos and we'll fill in the other blanks later.

That says "PW SUPPLIES", Django. I just noticed the wing on the far left has an S painted on its wing also. Here's a crew painting it on another airplane prior to POW supply missions to Japan.

Only so many hours a day man! I appreciate all your work in acquiring,scanning and posting! All that takes a LOT of time as well, if you stopped to clean up every pic, we would have a lot less of your beautiful old pic! Again, Thank you for YOUR work! Sometimes "cleaning up" photos loses detail as well, it is a slippery slope. Keep posting as is. Works fine for me!

Big Stick was 42-24661, 73rd Wing/499th Group/879th Squadron/ V44/Survived the War.

Victor 57 is an unknown other than that she was 73w/499g/879s.

That F-5 is interesting, but I don't know which photorecon units were assigned to the Marianas.

My father in law was the navigator on the Texas Doll. You can see his name "Julin" faintly in the picture near the navigator's window. I think Cutler's crew flew 30 bombing missions over Japan. Don Julin took 1000's of photos but not this one. One of his is on the cover of "Saga of the Superfortess".
