thanks,

I use my own designed spreadsheet. I can track parts, costs per hour per part, AD due times and hours remaining and what ever else I want to track

Where I work at we've built our own program using Microsoft Access. Not only do we track ADs and SBs against flight hours, we do a form of dispatching (USAF Plans and Scheduling) and present a fly order to our customer so the fleet maintains a uniform amount of hours. We also input all work orders and could do reports and searches against discrepancy phrases (cracks, leaks, etc.) There's a lot you could do on your own if you have someone who knows how to set up the data bases.

Yes, I know.... , but the issue is time. No one I know knows access--- most of the folks I work with on this project are barely computer literate. Bottom line is I don't have much spare time and don't want to invest a huge amount trying to learn Access when there are other potential solutions out there. Thanks for the advice though.

here is something you my find useful depending on your situation.
I use RT from Best Practical to track "squawks". It is easy to use and it allows you to track all issues, assign them to someone for resolution, and open and close repair issue tickets. This then leaves a digital trail so you can call up anything to see if it's re-occurring or a new issue. you can document your repair start to finish and even put in parts replaced etc. you can set it up so that the reporting party is kept in the resolution loop and recieves e-mails as to the status of their ticket. It works quite well for us.
