Brad,

Nice to see you took the picture of the Skyraider AFTER I had given that side the first quick clean. (We had been up in the air for about an hour doing a photo-shoot prior to getting to Alliance, and the aircraft had a small oilslick down its side. The dirty-three-filthy was living up to its name!).

Saw you arrive. Impressive. Pity they have you so far away at the other end of the ramp.

I will be out there on Saturday and Sunday, and hopefully I will get enough free time at some point in the weekend between aircraft flying, aircraft cleaning and museum PR to take the long walk north and have a looksee at your ride.

Julian.

Julian,

We are going to taxi up by yall in the morning after the briefing. They just wanted us down there today so we didn't block everybody else that needed to get by during the arrivals.

Come by if you get a chance,

Brad

Well, I went, I saw, I got a few (sadly very few) pictures, and saw some of (but unfortunately not all of) the show. Volunteering for CAP means you get free admission, free lunch, and a few other perks, but it usually also means that you might miss the good stuff. I did get to see the Cavanaugh section and most of Brad's flight (sans the landing itself since I had tents in the way). Overall it looked like a good show this year. The A-10 East Demo definitely had a lot more flair than A-10 West Demo I saw at Midland last year. The aileron roll on departure was definitely a great "wow" maneuver and got a lot of the crowd near me to gasp. :)

I went by the C-17 after you guys moved and saw no sign of you, and I had to get back to the ICP, so sorry I missed ya Brad.

Hope today's show is as good (got family stuff, so can't make it. :()

I went as well and had a great time. My daughter is an engineer for Bell so, we got to sit in the Bell Textron employee area and received great treatment and "front row" seating.

I stepped aboard a KC-135R for the first time in twenty years and also went aboard a V-22, a project on which my daughter works. Got to talk with the crewmembers on both and I am so proud of our military men and women!

I missed Brad as well. I spoke with a Captain on his crew and he said Brad knew about three-quarters of the people in attendance and was off "visiting." That's a lot of friends!

Turning my Air Force wings toward the wall, is it just me or do the Blues just seem to put on a better show than the T-birds?

Yup, they do :)

Have to disagree on that, but that's maybe partly because I've seen several abnormal Blues shows. One where they had a jet lose an engine, another where it was the low show, and another where they'd just lost the team member last year. Ugh! Hopefully they'll have an opportunity to redeem themselves at WOH on Saturday.

I personally like the Snowbirds best, T-birds next, and then the Blues.

Ryan
