Here was the best I had Brad

Thanks for those! They will make great additions to the "I love me collection". It looks like we just gave birth to Karen's O-2!

Brad,

Sorry I didn't get by the C-17, but I did see you (didn't know it was you at the time, but I guess it was you) sitting on ramp when ya'll were blasting back once.

Yep that would have been me. I saw you at the Yellow Rose but yall were busy and I didn't want to bother you.

A little disappointed at no Legacy Flight, B-52, AC-47, B-24, "Made in the Shade" flying, or visiting warbirds. I'd give the Saturday show a solid "B" rating. Weather obviously kept some aircraft away (made our trip from Newark into a 19-hour debacle on Friday, and Sunday stunk big time too...got home at 2am)

The B-52 actually cnxd a couple of weeks ago. The weather in Houston kept the AC-47 at home so that is why we didn't do the heritage flight on Saturday. We did actually work up a plan to use the R4D on Sunday but the weather stopped that from happening. There would also have been a FM-2/F-18 legacy flight on Sunday but the weather put a stop to that as well. Actually, all but a handful of the planes on hand were visiting warbirds. The CAF keeps very few at Midland most of the time. I believe I heard that Saturday's show was short about 24 planes due to weather cancels.

I was able to meet a few people that I've been wanting to meet, missed a few I wanted to meet, hung out with my family, they got to see me and my crew fly, one of my pilots got a ride in Gunfighter, the other loadmaster was able to taxi in her on Sunday and my other pilots were able to taxi in Sentimental Journey as well. I had a great seat for the airshow on Saturday, sitting on the ramp of the plane. I was able to have a good visit with Larry Lumpkin and his lovely bride, Jeff Linebaugh and a few of the other P-51 folks. I had the opportunity to tell them and Doug Rozendal semi-humorous stories about flying on C-130s after they toured our plane. Brad Lang took the time to let my pilot and I sit in the P-51C. Scott Slocum spent quite a bit of time with my crew, my wife and I. I was able to visit with Alan Brooks on a few occasions, enjoyed a visit with Karen of O-2 fame and just generally have myself a good time. On Monday I spent most of the day with my good buddy Gary Austin and Monday night we drove over to Big Springs and had my Mama make us a home cooked meal. If all goes according to plan we will head out on Tuesday at about 10AM.

I think that Gena, Randy Wilson, Mark Baxter and everybody else that I saw running around like chickens with their heads cut off, doing every little thing they could to make a success out of this show, did a fine job. I hope we get to come back next year.

Brad, It was great to see the C-17 demo. I especially enjoyed the push overs at the end of the climbs. You guys put on one of the better demos I have seen in a while. Thanks for your service.
