Taxied into by another aircraft?

No, wait. . .

Was she strapped incorrectly to the hangar deck elevator and got her nose whacked off?

Did someone try to tow it under a helio's rotors, or was it unchocked on the elevator when the boat heaved and the elevator was going up?

First Lady Carter christened it with a bottle of champagne, it took one hundred and forty seven whacks before the bottle finally broke!

I wouldn't advise doing that to the CAG's airplane at anytime!

GW tried a 'Mission Accomplished' landing by himself. Missed the first cable, slammed into the net., that wripped out and she slid into a Hawkeye queing up for launch then bounced off of that and slid onto an elevator which was on its way up.., and got its nose pinched off which fell onto a bunch of marines drinking warm beer.., the gunny fell off his 50 gal fuel barrel and bruised his 'drinking' elbow and they were all so p-o'd they began to throw their empties and some full ones at the aircraft.., hence all the damage to around the nose.
