This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

A great big BooYah to ya Chris! You found a great job in Elkhart? Sweet! Once ya get all settled in, maybe check into getting the Elkhart and Goshen airshows rolling again? So many great times at both of those airshows...first fell in love with Moonbeam McSwine there

Those two as well as Valpo used to have a cool show...and...Grissom back in the day! Great area for a warbird enthusiast...Kalamazoo, Detroit, Chicago, Indy etc. and the biggie Oshkosh is but a few hours away.
So very cool that you have taken an interest in Grissom...last I heard, they have opened up the runway to GA now...no reason to not get that airshow going again

Congrats and good luck Chris.
Let me know when you might make it to the museum again on a Friday. Perhaps I can have those clips taken on the B-17 bombing mission back in '44

...... i'm sure you'll make it more exciting. all the best!!

Welcome to our neck of the woods! I'm probably a couple hours from Elkhart, and my mom lives over in Crown Point, IN..just up the road. If you have the time, our model club is having its annual show/contest at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo on October tenth..it'd be great to meet you in person.

Thanks guys. We are having an EAA Fly-in on October10th. Come out and see us, and maybe be able to see the tower as well. I am working on getting the airshow going again next year. The airport itself is great. Everyone is just so friendly and we have warbirds and classic aircraft including several Stearman, a T-6, T-28, navions, Cubs, Huskee, Fougas, and an A-4 Skyhawk being rebuilt to fly! Does anyone know what P-51 resides in Kokomo, IN? I do look forward to meeting up with you all.

The P-51 is Nathan Davis's Checkertail. I think my boss knows him alittle.
