I think it's a good use for the old Aerostar skin. Only thing that came to my mind was that the shot placement on the exhaust gives a little bit of a lie to the 3d effect, but it's still neat.

LTFU. It's from an Aerostar. & it wasn't *airworthy* anyway, it's had a big dent hammered out of it. I assume you would rather it was weighed in for scrap?
Next time I have some genuine warbird skin I'll use it for welding practice, might just do that with the Stiletto & Spitfire skins I have just to PO the too tightly wrapped.

I don't think it is ment to represent any particular type of airplane. It doesn't look anything close to a P-40. Looks more close to a P-51. But here I go contributing to this rediculious rampage of this thread!

I'm thinking there may be some people on this board that would have a coronary if they saw the genuine warbird parts we throw in the trash....

Was going to bring home a bunch of knackered F7F brake stators this week to maybe weld into something to hang on the garage wall but I couldn't be bothered to take them out of the trash can...

How? There no real exhaust stacks, no scale panels, no serial numbers, etc...If he's trying to pass it off as genuine, it would be an awful small scale warbird....
Good Lord, it's art! The guy painted everything on it. There is nothing remotely genuine on it being passed off. It's an artistic study, a representation, a way to show his skills, a way to make us stick figure drawers humble, a way to be close to possibly his love....warbirds. I'd be proud to have it.
