Here's Dick Becker's F2G-2 from the Cleveland Nats -ca. 1947
Found it on line (thanks to the original poster)- cleaned it up, re-formatted it and enhanced it a bit...hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

I know that the larger (and infinitely more hideous) scoop probably worked a lot better than the original setup, but they sure managed to mangle the nose of an absolutely gorgeous airplane with it! The original production examples are, in my humble opinion, some of the most beautiful aircraft in the world. I hope #74 is restored with a reasonable scoop, similar to that used on #57. I remember my dad being impressed with the climb rate of this airplane...this coming from a guy who flew jets!

I couldn't agree more! That scoop from the Navy was awful.
And the F2G climb rate was phenomenal. Test Pilot Don Armstrong called it the 'Homesick Angel' because of it's incredible ability.

Here's Don getting into his 'Homesick Angel'.

Here's a rare one-Race #84. It started life as F2G-1 Bu No 88457. Painted in all black, it was flown by Tony Gennazzo in the 1947 Cleveland National Air Races. It crashed at high speed, killing the pilot and destroying the plane. Carbon monoxide was the suspected culprit. It also had the second, low profile-style full-length intake scoop-the style utilized on the Odergaard restoration of Race #57.

Uh....YEAH!!

When I produce my 20 new-build Corsairs I figured five of them or so will be F2G's. One I would paint in this scheme and race it at, you guessed it. RENO!

Put me down for a white one with clipped wings and a 94 on the side.

Great pictures! Thanks!

No. I beleive it has markings for 4 racers. Perhaps there are aftermarket markings available.
