Congrats on the new addition, Don. Kermit is a great name for the little machine.
You'll have to pen a blow-by-blow of the 22 hour trip for our consumption. One of my cousins did a similar trip in a Cub a number of years ago that included a bout of food poisoning somewhere in Illinois.........

I own a Cessna O-2A, serial number 68-11055. Not a sheep in wolf's clothing.
I purchased the aircraft in the condition that it was returned from Southeast Asia, and re-assembled and restored it. I am also the only civillian pilot to have flown this aircraft, as I have the original logs.

Its a nice airplane, but its not a warbird, nor a warbug.
Not all Navions are L-17's, not all Cessna 172's are T-41's, not all Ercoupe's are YO-55's, not all Beech Baron's are T-42's, not all Beech 18's are SNB's or C-45's, not all Cessna Skymasters are O-2's, and I can go on all night long. You can go to most any airshow and see the posers on display. I even saw a 1975 pressurized Skymaster with a clam shell door painted like an O-2A on display at a large week long airshow held in late July between Milwaukee and Green Bay.
There were many aircraft built that were adapted for use by the Government, but that doesn't make their brothers warbirds.
But the fact remains is that its not a warbird by definition.

I was'nt going to reply, as I am not knowledgable in this or many other areas. Fellow just got an airplane and is rightfully proud and excited about it. I sure would be. Why rain on his parade? It causes no harm does it? Which among us can say wether the airplane flew civilian anti-submarine patrols? Mayhaps it searched for those Japanese bomb balloons? Perhaps it delivered beer to some squadron on an occasion? All kinds of possibilities that the imaginitive mind can come up. He says it is a warbird, it causes me no harm to agree with him.
So I say.. Congrats on your warbird and its period correct dazzle camo job!!! I hope she serves you well and you enjoy every dollar spent.

Like it or not, this is all truth.
I don't think we WIXers really need to rain on anyone's parade in a thread where they're showing off a new toy, but the above fact does remain.
If I ever have the chance to show off an airplane I've purchased here on WIX, I'll be sure to arm up the shields for the criticism I'm inviting by posting it.
