For those who plan to be at Geneseo 05

Tue Jan 11, 2005 4:28 pm

I plan to bring some homebrew to share with the WIX group. I figure that I will take suggestion and pick two types and bring those along. I'm starting this now because gives me plenty of time to make and properly age the winners

So what style of beer would you like at Geneseo?

STOUT

Any type of beer is fine by me :D

Cheers,

So a Stout and Wheat beer.
I'm still perfecting my stout recipe. Tomorrow I try my last version. I wasn't too happy with the stout I brought last year. I have a killer German wheat recipe (IMNSHO)

Rob, do you mean an IPA like I brought last year? I can bring some of that also. All those only take about 6 weeks, the IPA a bit longer.

I have a few others I may bring to have you guys try, One is called the Wort Hog. We really love it, it is based off the Stone Brewery’s Arrogant Bast-ard.

This weekend I plan to brew up some WIX beer for Geneseo.

I'll be making a Classic German Wheat Beer and a semi-sweet stout.

I'm debating on also brewing this weekend an IPA (Indian Pale Ale) or a Belgian style ale, I'm not really sure. Both will be brewed but which this weekend? :?:

I have to bottle the beer by June 17th to ensure that it is carbonated and ready to drink for Geneseo. I’ll be posting pictures of the process so you al can see the birth of the WIX beer.

If not ROOT how about BIRCH?

I've never made soda (pop, coke...) before. I think you add some water to sugar and flavoring. Then bottle with some yeast to carbonate, I’ll have to check out what flavors are available.

Hmmm or try and make a Moxie Clone. I have to change to oil in my cars soon, that should be a good start

Don't forget to sweep up the Speedy Dry you sopped the oil up with! It helps to clean out the BAD SPIRITS!

THATS IT!
Speedy Dry is the secret ingredient in Moxie!

I was able to brew the Wheat, Stout and a Belgian Style Ale this weekend. this coming weekend I will work on the IPA. That should take care of brewing this summer.

I'm looking into making Rootbeer also. I will have to see if I have enough bottles for that. As it is I will need to de-label several cases of 12oz bottles so I can bottle these brews. :|

Tim's Brew

Hey Tim..too bad we don't live nearby, I'd sure like to see what it would
take to horsetrade some homemade Tejano salsa for some of your Wheat!

Just come up to Geneseo in July. And Bring the Salsa. Unless you make your own up here, real salsa is impossible to find.
