Were you wearing the 3D glasses? They're just not the same without them....

Do you recommend the M1 or the train?

It was for the most part a beautiful drive the last time I went.

I can't recall the last time I drove up the M1, but the train is far less stressful....

Most of the drive is terrible, but as soon as you cross the border it's much better.

The problem with taking the train is that, after you arrive, you don't have a car!

Of course, on the Royal Mile you don't need a car....

True, but if you're coming up to Waverley, you can be picked up!

Then, of course, you'd have to put up with my driving - and those Jesus Christ handles have had a good workout lately!

They were ridiculous if taken literally, but with a little imagination and an open mind they were ok.

Anyway, what if... What if the USAF decided to use T-28's or something like that against Mig-29's and Mirages in Iran? I think that's the closest comparitive scenario to Iron Eagle III. If they were armed with the latest radars and weapons, they might last a little longer.

Thanks for the mention, but that painting that showed the Rolands trying to ruin Hacker's day was Mark Postlethwaite's - it appeared on the cover of an Osprey title:

I’m suddenly reminded of the realization I had when seeing “Iron Eagle 2” with the Russian F-4 “Migs,” where they have to fly down a trench to his an exhaust port to keep a awful weapon from being fired. Gee, that sounds familiar somehow. When I saw it in the theater (I think I was 18 at the time), I couldn’t resist the urge to yell, “Use the force, Luke!” during a moment with minimal sound. I swear, you could hear the entire audience, all murmuring, “My God, he’s right, this is the last 20 minutes of ‘Star Wars’!” Plenty of them hadn’t realized it before that and some actually got up and left in disgust as soon as that realization hit them.
I must admit the first one has its moments, like when he first lines up the runway and starts up “Gimmee some lovin’” by the Spencer Davis Group as he starts his run. Horribly cheesy, no question about it, but that first film is EVERY American teenage boy’s fantasy.
But sadly, yes, I must admit I paid money to see the 3rd movie in a theater. I’ve never seen it since.

They got it from SW, who borrowed it from 633 Squadron, who loosely based it on the attack from The Dam Busters.
