The Stratolina looks like a good home for Zebra Mussels... Maybe you can make a deal and trade it for something out of Lake Michigan.

Man, somebody is going to see that thing on Google Earth and be posting here asking everyone what it is...

Too cool for school!

Watch out! The French Air Forces could show up to claim 'their' aircaft, it does resemble something the French would built rather than buy C-130's Nice job of stirring the old grey matter and exercising your punkin' haid   :supz:

I like it!

Are those PBY wings from the Minnesota one that flipped in a storm? (That was Minnesota, right? )

any idea where I can get some decent C-97 cockpit windows? I tried to buff ours out, but the Lexan or Plexi is just flat out cloudy.

We worked on our bird a bit yesterday. All is coming along swimmingly. Ran through some checklists, cycled the systems, etc..
We'll be sending the ailerons out for recovering soon, as soon as we get the elevators back.

Won't be long now.

BTW:

As cool as "Stratolina" sounds, I'm partial to "Catofreighter"...

Kevin, these wings are off of the PBY that was left for the scrappers by the CAF down in Brownsville, TX. The two up in Minnesota are still there.

VCS1, all of the firewall forward stuff that came off of this particular PBY was acquired by the CAF folks from Minnesota. I believe they still have an entire QEC available for sale, as they tried to sell one to the B-24A a while back. You can contact Donna Blalack at CAF HQ ( dblalack@cafhq.org ) to get the contact info for the folks in MN to ask them about the mount you're needing.

So far, no deal on the Sabre fuselage.....waiting on the latest reply. I do have a helicopter carcass here though...maybe I can put it up on that stack of empty MEK cans I have here.

Looks like the South Pacific Cargo Cults may be seeing a revival down in TX. 8)

Are you gonna make a runway and set signal fires to entice the gods to return?

Ooooooooh.......a runwaaaaay. Hmmm, didn't think about that.

I have about an acre of land between the front of it and the end of my property (where the moat is), so I could clear out some more mesquite, catcus, and other useless vegetation, to make a little runway for it. Hmmm...........

AIRLIFT48-

Try a MICROMESH kit. You'll wind up with arms like AHHNIE, but I've seen it clear up some pretty milky plexiglas windows.
