The THUNDERBOLT was done by Karcrafters in Michigan, Galpin is a los Angeles area based FORD dealer and developer/customizing shop who does a great deal of kit development for after market performance/eyewash cladding for FORD products. Buy your new 'stang and have it 'personalized' before delivery (sorry, the plate saying 'DIGME' is already taken)

I'm 5'11, and traveled 6600 miles in 15 days on a "See the USA" road trip in my Mustang GT, and never had a problem. It did 125mph at one point, with plenty of RPM left, and it was stable as a rock. The earliest models were arguably the worst, and surpassing 45 years of production, I would hardly call it a "phenomenom". Prowlers and Crossfires are phenomena...

Gotcha beat, did the Cannonball Roberts Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash in '72 in a Chevy van that carried 85 gallons of fuel (50 in 5 gal Jerry cans inside
) and did Manhattan to Redondo in 29 hours! Old Rte 66!

They did make characters out of us for the Cannonball Run movie the following year.

Oh yes, tulio. I ran it the second year of the event..Brock Yates and Dan Gurney did it the first year, we ran the second. After '72, they made the first Cannonball movie, "Cannonball Run". Our rolling molitov cocktail was the inspiration for their group that ran, I think, a fuel truck or the like. I'd have to go back and see the movie again.
We had three fuel stops and averaged 72 MPH for the run!
