Ken,
42-53373 is listed as a B-25C-5. That may be the correct serial number for the original Poopsie.? The airplane on display is as Gary stated, B-25J-25NC, 44-30649.

You can find a site map here...
ImageAerial Visuals - Location Dossier - Maxwell AFB, Alabama

If anyone has some photos they could upload (hint, hint, hint, Scott / Mr. Second Air Force) I would really appreciate it. To do so just go to the list of airframe dossiers here...
ImageAerial Visuals - Location Dossier - Maxwell AFB, Alabama
...and in each dossier you will find a photo upload link.

If you have the time Scott I would very much appreciate it. Right now none of the dossiers have any photos and it would be great if they all could have at least one.

Another question... Where is the H-53 displayed? I would like to create a site and airframe dossier for it.

Mike

A friend, the late Lt. Col. Del Light, won a Silver Star over North Vietnam in one...I think he'd disagree....

As mentioned the B-25 is ex-Catch 22 and traded to the NMUSAF for a B-17G..probably clear title for the Tallmantz B-17 that soon went to Burchinal and is now with Weeks..it's in storage after being wrecked by Hurrican Andrew in 1992. I happened to see it at that time and it was blown quite a distance from its tie down and ended up in some brush/woods.

While at SOS, I used to run past the B-25 and 52 every day. Had to watch my head around the 52...I didn't want to pith myself on an antenna.

BTW: Is the O-1 still there?

Gotta say that for fixed, outdoor displays, these are pretty sweet. Nice job, Maxwell!
