No perfect guesses yet. And I'm not trying to be mean - just trying to see if anyone's got a bead on more information! I'm thinking of someone really dredged up information I've previously posted it might give it away.
Also, I wish I had more enhanced photos myself! Here's a nearby feature...

I'm hoping to contact the locals before too long.

I think you guys are killing me as much as I think it's killing you.

Here's another shot:

That should confirm what aircraft are in the previous photos.

Also, it should take me approximately 1 hr. 45 min. to get there at a reasonable speed in the L-5.

I'm not sure where Taylor's L-5 is based exactly, but a rough estimate would be 1 hr. 20 min. not knowing where his plane is based.

Triangulation off that should pretty close to give it away.

I know where it is

By the way Ryan, I have a log book from a pilot who flew L-5s and L-3s there during the war... I didn't realize I had it... I'll jot down the s/n of the aircraft logged. It should be interesting to see if your friend knew the pilot!

Cool. I think that sometime we have to have an L-5 meet there... Maybe talk to some of the locals a month or so in advance and try to get some other L-5s to show as well!

How far off was my time estimate?

I'm up for an L-Bird get together there! Your estimate was spot on! By the way, Lanny Parcell is having an LBird round up at his place at Propwash Airfield in Justin TX (between Dallas and Ft. Worth) the weekend of the 16th of May... you should come up if you can. My bird ought to be flying in the event that weekend...

Argh. The ALS L-5 is under annual right now - and I really shouldn't spend any money right now trying to finish the CFI. Will pass it on.

One more clue and then I reveal it. Think a bit more west.

And we have a winner!

Both of the liaison squadron members I have talked with recently trained there. For sure the 115th Liaison Squadron and the 163rd Liaison Squadron were there for training.

Of course, if you run into anything related, I'd like to know!
