I'm kind of partial to that four engined baby parked at the end of the ramp! Alan

Beautiful P-40! Why isnt there a blue trim on the stars and bars though?

For a very short period of time the National insignia sported only the white bars with no outline. Then they added the red outline which was finally replaced with the blue outline.

As of Friday afternoon. No Corsairs. P-40 Suzy, CAF P-51D, and P-51D Sizzlin' Liz. Several WildCats (3 or 4; Potential accident one was not there, but there was the old Foote with the door on the side that is at Stallion 51 now as well as Cavanaugh's). Also there was a Sea Fury from the CAF there. 4 DC-3s and of course Gary Austin's B-24A/LB-30. Lots of trainers.

Thanks, but frankly, I'd rather consider the Sea Fury "mine" than that B-24. I've spent waaaaaaay more time working on and flying around in that particular Fury over the years than I ever did on Ol' 927.

Gary, I can say this, YOUR Sea Fury was REALLY nice. I was quite impressed with it. Its a shame its not flying (other than in and out of the show).......

Of course I still think the work you did on the B-24 was significant enough to make it into something else (a bomber instead of a transport) and I would say that would leave a lasting legacy for you at the CAF. It is MUCH more valuable to them as a bomber and it really took something to make that conversion.

Thanks for the kind words, Mark. They're neat ol' machines to play with, that's for sure.....and it was an honor to be able to tinker with 'em.
