Not sure I have anything really to add to the discussion either for or against, though I have to say that it does seem a bit one-sided, and perhaps that says something.

Anyway, I couldn't resist this series of shots today...

This is not to stir the pot because I stand behind my previous post in this thread as it pertains to my experience meeting CY and other Warbird owners. I'm posting again because my Flight Journal was interrupted and I finally got to read the editorial myself.

It was over 95% "Here's what I did in WWII" and 5% "By the way, we need to stop crashing these planes". Bizarre. After all the fuss I expected it to be a full-length rant.

I won't try to add any more to what's been well-covered, but after reading this, I'm mostly left wondering - why in the heck did Flight Journal bother publishing this piece? Who initiated it - CY or the Editors? And after seeing that the piece actually had so little to say about Warbird ops, why did FJ put the headline "Stop wasting Warbirds" on the cover? Seems to be flirting with sensationalism to me. Disappointing to say the least without any productive input.

Does anyone have pics of the damage CY did recently to the T-6? I'd like to see how much he actually did to the a/c...

Anybody ever find these pics?

Just to be devil's advocate, how many warbirds have we lost since Jan. already? Just because it is a fact we are not happy about, doesn't make it untrue. There is truth in what he says, but because it is Yeager, some will just continue to be bash the man.

Wow didnt realize this thread was still going.

Accidants happen and sadly a few of recent times. Yeager states "stop wasting warbirds". But he doesn't seem to have a problem flying them himself. Its hypocritical BS like this is why I have no time or interest in.

Yeager has flown over 300 types of aircraft. I am pretty sure he has some knowlege in what he talks about. I think we have all seen at one time or another someone flying an airplane that they had no business being in. I personally watched an aircraft I put fuel in, stall, crash and cartwheel down the runway killing a father and son before my very eyes, all because he had no business being in that aircraft.

Mod post: If you really think there's something new to be said here, ask Scott or a mod to unlock the thread.

Otherwise, time to move on.
