And you shall forever be known as "The Traveler" Chris. You get around to more museums in one month than most people in a year!
As always, great pics. Did you say you met the girlfriend's family? Oh uh, things are gettin serious....

Hurray for you Chris! Congrats! Great museum pics too! I always liked that museum. As I recall they had a pretty extensive petting zoo outdoors in the late '90s but seems I remember they built more indoor exhibit space??

Thanks buddy. THere is still a good bit outside, but not as much as before. They just finished the WWII building, and are still moving aircraft inside, and putting them through restoration. But they are on the right track. The B-29 looks great.

Great pics as always Chris! You're right, that does look like a pretty cool museum. Sorry never got back to you the other day, things got a little crazy around here.

Chris,
Did the B-29 have the outboard wings installed (last 26 feet of the wing on either side). I was there in Sept of last year and it had the outboard wings off, sitting outside. I am guessing they had just removed them to move it around...

Yeah, I have some pics of it at home. It was all together, but the rudder was off of it. Really a great looking plane. They seem to be moving most of the rare and older stuff indoors.

Good Stuff!!! Thanks for the Pics

Great photos Chris. You really get around. They have done a great job of getting planes inside.

Note the paint on the C-124 at Robbins. I spoke with the people in their restoration shop about the paint's condition the last time I was there. They said it was water base and that streaking was the result.
Also, Chris, am I correct in that there was at one time a C-124 at Mercer? I recall seeing a picture some one took of another aircraft with a partial view of a C-124 in the background. I remember it was at some small museum in Georgia, maybe, Mercer.
I am aware of the nine C-124 that remain. However, the picture that I saw with the C-124 in the background has always been a mystery to me.

I think that someone said that the C-124 at the Museum of Aviation is the one that was at Mercer years ago.
