There will be a gathering of aircraft and WWII History buffs at Hondo on March 28. Not a Fly-in or Airshow but just a gathering for food fun and refreshment. We hope to have our C-47 make its' first flight (or at least engine runs) and a few other surprise planes show up. Hondo Army Airfield complete with miles of concrete and over 1400 buildings was completed in less than 180 days during the first years of the war. Most all the buildings are gone, but the airfield and most concrete still there and being used. Come join us for the fun.

That sounds like fun. I just put a note on my phone to remind me a week in advance... if my schedule allows.

Planning on having the B-25 "Yellow Rose" there, as well as the mighty U-11, and hopefully some other CenTex Wing aircraft.

Ober,

Do you have any more information on what all is going on? Sell me on it as the rest of the squadron may be headed for the Heritage fly-in. You know one of our guys at the field flew C-47s in the CBI.

Aircraft confirmed for the 28th: 2)Vals,Stearman, 2 T-6s, T-28, plus the C-47 that is a resident . Hope for good weather and we will see you there. Come on Karen get that O-2 together and come on out. Almost foregot the mighty U-11. Anything else coming from San Marcos Mike? Just added Kate, and Zero. Maybe we should get Pyro and go for a 3 mile wall of fire. All the pyro haters could come and protest!

That's the plan, weather permitting.

There's a possibility that two more of our squadron might show up - and then fly on the Heritage.
