Wow! Great Find. I have not seen these before. to me, it was MUCH more impressive to see Boris V. Korvin-Kroukovsky Flying a Waco on floats and doing loops, aerobatics, and flying inverted with the FLOATS. Says there were over 100 different models of Wacos approved and tested with Edo floats and some of those approved for aerobatics. The film record is great. I happen to have several file drawers full of Korvik-Kroukovsky's personal archives, including original blueprints and hand drawn sketches of his many flying boat and seaplane-float equipped aircraft designs. He was the cheif designer fo Edo. and actually was one of the two principals (alond with Earl D. Osborne "EDO")who formed and operated the Edo company. He also had worked and designed many other seaplanes and flying boats, and even land-based bombers and air racers, for others includng Curtiss and Aeromarine company. He had been an important figure in the Russian Air Service during WWI. As the film clip shows, I never knew he was such an accomplished pilot, as well.

Yeah, I was about to say, the Waco doing aerobatics with the floats... now that's exciting stuff.

Thanks for sharing that video, it's made my day.

Cheers,

David

And to think...my wife and I have TWO of that particular model of Waco doing the loops/rolls/inverted flight with floats. I have quite a number of still photos of that same test, especially the takeoff. That airplane is also a sister-ship to ours. It is NC661Y and we have NC663Y.
