Yup, I'm actually riding up front in that very first closeup. You can see I've got a flag on the glareshield that was intended to be flown over the cemetery in Belgium.

I think I might be touching an open nerve here. How long would you like us, Europeans, to show our gratitude and bow our heads for every American we meet? We remember and don't forget, be assured. But you were not the only ones who made sacrifices and there were political and economic reasons too for keeping western Europe from Nazi and Communist indoctrinations. It was not just altruïsm. We all have grown up now, we know how and with the help of which forces we were kept free. Don't keep going on to repeat that the US was so generous to liberate Europe. You played a big role, but you were and are a big, big country with big, big resources and were NOT occupied at the time. Other countries (like Canada) also provided forces. We, Europeans, did the best we could at the time.
The argument of 'we, the US, solely liberated Europe' becomes a bit tiring. You did a tremendous job, but others did also. From much more restricted sources.
