I would like to stop by in May and take a few photos if it is still there. I have created a new location for this one in the Locator, but my map reference is only approximate. To view the map go to...

ImageAerial Visuals - Location Dossier - Cable Airport - F-89

To help me out with the location, zoom in on the map (via the link above), use the satellite view and right click to get the lat & lon. Paste in a reply here. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

Does anyone know there serial number?

Mike

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Is this a location an average guy can see, or is it a place requiring a ramp pass. I can't quite tell from the sat image.

CAF has their AN-2 there as well I believe.

Cable is one of the few airports where you can park and walk around still- probably because it is privately owned and they can't afford a perimeter fence.

The main entrance is at 13th street (looks like there is an A-4 with some red swept tail job next to it- Mig-15 fuselage?). That is over by the old CAP hangar- the green camouflaged quonset hut.

There is an access road just north of the airport property where you can get onto the field to access the north hangars.

Cable is a great little private airport and people are generally very friendly.

P.S. Look on Google Maps and check "Street View" and you can see where the airport entrances are.

the 3rd persuit wing of the CAF has a AN-2,T-6,PT-22 and sometimes a FM-2 there on the field. Cable does now have a perimeter fence also although they do leave the south entrance gate open durning daylight hours. There is a A-4 painted up in Blue Angel colors thet used to be with the Western Museum of Flight and next to it is a Mig-17 with fake wings.
I been hanging out at Cable Airport all my life,my has his hangar there and instructs there, and my step-father works for the airport,it is indeed a great little airport.
