I had the idea that it was NMUSAF asset painted as it flew with the RCAF.

So...was the C-21 helo still there?

Here's the Voodoo last year...looked pretty sad.

I think she was moved too. The following aircraft have been removed to the best of my knowledge: F-4, F-105, F9F, T-28, F-86, C-47, HH-21, RF-84, and now the F-101. I would hope that they could find a home for the C-119, and the HU-16 as well.

For gods sake at least close the tail chute door! She does look a little weathered. Interesting to see the ealier RCAF markings.

yeah at one time she was a nice airplane to look at compared to the others. it's just a shame they were never taking care of as nice as his car collection that's in the building behind it!

We obtained the F-4, T-33, and F-105, from Pate. We repainted both the F-4 and T-33. Paint is not holding up on the F-4, so it may be stripped and repainted again in the future. F-105 was partially repainted after the Air Force Museum removed the radio-active panels, and we replaced them.

I live here in Tyler and have been to the Museum several times. What do I need to do to become involved with the restoration of museum's aircraft?

I'll e-mail Mark Miller and see what happened to the VooDoo. We didn't want it, and actually tried to get one from Lackland that was nicely painted so I didn't have to do a repaint on the Pate one. The NMUSAF vetoed that, and said if we were to get one, it would be the Pate aircraft. We nixed that, so they apparently gave it to someone else.

The last flight of a "Texans" Voodoo (or any ANG Voodoo for that matter) was on August 8, 1983.

The original CAF was formed on 19 September 1918, in the UK. It was a Section within the Overseas Military Forces of Canada. The prefix "Royal" was permitted in 1924. The initials have since been copied by some other organizations. :wink:

Welcome to the WIX captjohn! Thanks for your time at the restoration hanger last month. I posted some shots of the HO4S and A-1E here from my visit.

Does anyone know where the Pate C-47, CH-21, and T-28 went? I know where the others went but not these three birds...

So CaptJohn, Did Mr. Miller reply to your E-mail about the disposition of the 101. We might be interested in bringing it to our museum in Az. We tried to get one of the ones in Gila Bend but the city put a coat of paint on them per the USAF museums directives and were allowed to keep the planes.
