Also good is "One Six Left" (the 'making of' documentary) and "Flying Full Circle" about his flight with the Blue Angels.

Additionally, Brian's new effort looks promising also: http://www.aviationepic.com

I've been very impressed with what I have seen from him so far, and very much looking foward to more in the future!

So let me ask, is there anyone on WIX that was in the movie?

I sure wasn't in the movie, but I got my private at VNY. Doing touch and go's on 16L while the Air Guard was landing their C-130's on 16R was kinda cool. Any other WIX'ERS fly at VNY?

I've seen the documentary several times. It is fantastic!

Love the footage of the Pitts doing inverted flat spins.

...flying at VNY...
Back about 1979 or 1980, I flew as a passenger out of Van Nuys down to John Wayne - Orange County to visit Movieland of the Air. A last minute (unplanned) trip by a vendor as a favor to me, so no camera.
We flew right over LAX (don't remember flight level, but very high up) - could watch the planes coming in to our left and taking off to our right.
As we were in final (landing back at VNY), they told us to hurry up and we saw the C130's taking off in what had been our direction as soon as we hit the taxiway.
Terrific flight, great trip.

It's ok man. Like we talked about, for optimum WIX posting performance, keep following the bright light, sip some herbal tea and play Yanni--Live at the Acropolis as you compose your next post. Peace out. 8)

I've seen 16R as well and it's very well done, really enjoyed it. Made me want an A-26.

Paul, I've got that album Yanni--Live at the Acropolis.... I sip fruity drinks with umbrellas and type all kinds of wonderful stuff these days listening to Yanni. I've also been puppy shopping lately .... happy New year brother ...

A few photos of my father were in the documentary. He and his brother ran a repair shop in 1948/49/50. That is were the Shoestring racer was built. My father standing next to #5 Cosmic Wind........ Image img]http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/scan10012a_copy1.jpg[/img]
