One of our family members was a Tech Rep for Curtiss during the war. I was going through some of the books and I found a couple of books on the A-25. One being a structrual repair manual and a copy of the flight manual. Well the book also contained Curtiss documents of the issues the A-25 had. At the back, were 2 photos of the BEAST on a set of floats. Sorry for the tease, but maybe I can get some pics by next weekend. I dont want to take the book apart to scan it because the pics are in rough shape.

I have a photo of one in a book, Naval Air Stations of WWII Eastern United States. There's a pic of one based at Montauk, Lang Island.
I'd have to dig it out to scan it.
BTW, I also have a WWII ID model of the SB2C WITH the floats. I think it's a little on the rare side, but the float struts are broken (I have them all) and someone had painted it blue.

On another note, no, they are not forsale. But also in the collection are many manuals, and blueprints and production documents and notes for the Hawk 75 and the P-40. It was neat but I found a pile of inspection forms for the Inspection intervals for the P-40.

Another neat item, inside the Errection manual for the P-40 that he took to his trip to Egypt was a list of Serial Numbers of aircraft that the Brittish flew. But there will be more on that in the future as dad is working on a special project.

The current posting of photos on 1000aircraftphotos.com has a photo as well as some info of a SB2C on floats. According to the description it came directly from the Columbus, Ohio production line ready for modification at NAS Anacostia. It is not an A-25 as all USAAF Helldivers came from a dedicated production line at St. Louis, MO.

I finally dug out my copy of Peter C. Smith's excellent history from the Crowood Aviation Series,"Curtiss SB2C H*lldiver" (or something like that).The picture below shows the XSB2C-2 on floats.I've seen more pictures of it somewhere,but most of my reference library is in Oregon and I'm currently in Florida.I don't know what picture jdvoss came up with because I get an "Item not found" message with that link.I hope that this helps.The text lists the airframe as being a modified SB2C-1 that was delivered on 28 Oct 42 and tested at NAS Anacostia and at Hampton Roads with generally satisfactory results,but after rethinking the need for such an aircraft,the entire project was terminated on 14 April 1944.
