Thunder Over Reno Movie?

Mon Dec 08, 2008 3:30 pm

I've been seeing the ads for the DVD in the mags. Has anyone seen it? Is it any good?

Id like to find a cheap copy myself. Looks like it could be some great air to air footage if anything.

I borrowed it from a coworker.
I'm glad I borrowed it.

That said, it had some good flying scenes but the story line was weak.
I was hoping for an air racing movie.
I guess we need to support the attempt in hopes they get it right next time.

One persons opinion.

Yes the storyline and acting are pretty bad, but I'll watch anything with airplanes in it 8)

I think that's number 8) of the reasons your a warbird fanatic!

to be polite the air to air is great....

...thats about it. they could recoup their costs if they just made all the air to air footage available on a CD WITHOUT any story line.

Read the last paragraph at the top of this post. I put it up after returning from Reno last year.

Yeah, it's not good. I very quickly found myself fast forwarding through anything with dialogue. The "Racing Reno" behind the scenes DVD was much better. I really wish they had just filmed a documentary about Reno, the reality is exciting enough.

Dreadful dialogue, weak plot, and bad acting ruined what could have been a great film, and I think "Racing Reno" is evidence of that. Here's the trailer.

It was sometimes painful, but I made it all the way through the movie.

I feel for the gentlemen involved in its production.
I know the project took a lot of time, effort, and money. But it just didn't turn out as great as we all hoped. :(
