I have my own...not copyrighted btw...they should fly it again just to take better photos of it.

I noticed the same with all the WWII photos by Edward Steichen's unit all in the Navy.
Or are they simplely charging $80.00 and hoping someone will buy it???
They have a copyRIGHT notice in every pic in the archive. Some I agree are dubious but you can imagine that they haven't researched every pic in the archive to be sure the right is valid as to each. They may in any case have a thin copyright in the particular version they published.
Most of the Life pics definitely are copyrighted. They are not in the public domain just because they are on the web.
Even if it's public domain, if Life has the only good/original negative, slide, or digi file that quality prints could be made from, it has effective control of the image and can charge what it wants to for prints.

Sounds like someone needs a copy of the new improved third edition of Final Cut (hint hint).
But, yes, that airplane is at the Hill Aerospace Museum. Had been on loan from the USAFM to David Tallichet's Yesterday's Air Force and parked at St. Petersburg for awhile. (44-83563 N47780)
