OK,

What is it?

Extra points for any relevant quality information beyond the name.

(Photo retouched to remove markings - otherwise unaltered.)

Warm feeling, but no pony prize.

Fieseler Fi 256V-1. Prototype for follow-on to the Fi 156 Storch.

Cheers,

I was going to say Storch but I that would have only gotten me a look at the pony. The quantity of flapagators and the long leggity landing gear are giveaways.

No Pony or warm feeling for Ober.
From our own Randy Wilson:
http://rwebs.net/dispatch/output.asp?ArticleID=12
Quote:
It was at the Puteaux plant in 1943-44 that Gerhard Fieseler built two prototypes of a new five-seat design, the Fi 256. Although similar in appearance and concept to the Storch, the Fi 256 was a new design with a larger passenger cabin, retractable wing slats and much cleaner aerodynamics. Designed both for the military and civilian market, four persons could be seated in two rows of seats behind the pilot, and the engine was the same Argus 10P used in later Storchs.

Interesting that it provides a concept link (perhaps) between the Fi156...

Life's a beach, eh?

O'course there's another quiz to knock over for one of them warm fuzzies. See the link above.

And it's in one of them southern US states too.
