that was the one that used to be in-front of the courthouse, so there is two pretty decent frames of the F-84F in Terre haute, IN. Too bad im sure the MNUSAF owns them.

You happen to know if they have any F-84 stuff? Do they deal with private individuals or just businesses?

A guy with a private B-47? Wow, how did I miss that one? Is that the one that someone has that's in basically scrapped shape?

I know where to get a B-47 nose section. Neither the Navy museum nor the current museum housing it wants it. They lost the documentation on it and can't scrap it without hte paperwork though. I suppose someone could work with them on the paperwork and secure it. Sort of wierd that the Navy museum holds rights to a B-47 nose section though. It's a one of a kind. Last B-47A major fuselage section left in existance.

Any photos of this nose section?

I don't know if this B-47 nose is from one of them, but the Navy used two B-47Es for various test programs up into the seventies. They were based out of the Douglas Tulsa plant for a time if memory serves. Perhaps this remnant is one of them and the reason the Navy has ownership.

Nope, it's a B-47A nose. Only B-47A nose left in existance. It's at the Pima Air & Space Museum in thier storage area outside -- at least it was about 11 months ago. They clearly stated that they have no intention to restore it and it's sitting there because the Navy lost the paperwork on it. It apparently has an accession number for the Navy museum. They stated that they wanted to salvage it out. I'd prefer to see it get turned into a display though because of it being so rare though.

That is a rare piece. I agree it should be saved, and isn't it amazing that it's easier to destroy a historical artifact rather than deal with governmental bureaucracy? I don't intend this as a criticism of Pima, just a sad commentary on dealing with a federal agency. Our tax dollars at work.

I'll post this again here because I didn't get any response the first time.

Does anyone know the status of F-84F-30-GK S/N 51-9420? I was told it went to Cavanaugh for possible restoration to flying condition.

It had been at the Olympic Flight Museum, and had been issued an N-number but I don't have it with me.

Curtis this is what I have come up with, probably not much help?
