I guess I'm not being allowed to retire from WIX just yet. So for you very few smart asses, do me a favor and don't piss me off. lolol

Here's a shot of a very dear Hellcat to me. I look ready to put on my flight suit and fire it up   ... I used to go see this plane several times. Sat in the cockpit a few times and actually took my Dad to POF years ago and he sat in her as well and had several folks stand around listening to his old Navy stories. Good old days, when men were men and pigs were eaten not dated ... haha!!!!

Lets see how long it takes this time to get pissed off ....

Another friend of my Dad's from the War

Capt A J Reinhart & "Husky" P-47D 44-20456 Kassel Germany May 1945

Note; Any information about this pilot or his unit appreciated. I think he was in my Dad's outfit & transfered to a P-47 unit. Thanks

Albert J. Reinhart was in the 36 FG 53 FS.He was credit with one destroyed and another damaged while in that unit in 1945.
The P-47 markings looked familar to me and checked the books I have .
The 53 FS code was 6V with a Blue nose and tail was yellow .
The blue was a squadron marking and yellow tail was Group marking that changed around with differant parts of the tail painted.
There is a web sight with P-47 serial numbers but 44-20456 is in the 368 FG but a 44-20466 is in the 53 FS but this might not be correct?
Cool photo's and thanks for sharing.

Honestly, there are a LOT of great crew shots out there. It's hard to pick which one's are the neatest.
