how would you paint it?

I personally find the USS Bunker Hill markings on a Corsair to be pretty cool, so I'd probably go with that.

I know I did this about a year ago, but I thought I'd bring it back to see what you'd say now.

...I would sell it so fast you wouldnt believe it , then buy an alpha jet. sorry but I'm afraid i don't have the millions required to keep a WWII plane happy and in the air!

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

For those who don't realize it, this is the late Merle Gustafson's "Angel of Okinawa", now belonging to Kermit Weeks, in her 'real' military garb.

As much as I love Odegaard's orange super corsair, I believe the same scheme in "Corsair Blue" and white sunburst stripes, on a Super Corsair would be one really gorgeous airshow bird.
The original blue and white checkerboard and Navy blue warbird paint on 'The Blue Max", the F4U-7 was the prettiest Corsair I have ever seen. Don't even know if it was authentic. I believe it was owned by Bob Guilford.

I would have to go with a factory fresh, tri-color scheme, no squadron or personal markings.
If it was a later -4 factory fresh dark blue.

If I had a -1A or an FG-1, I think I'd first paint it as the prototype for a few years, just because it would looking really cool! Maybe add a birdcage to it for the same time period.
