aircraft recognition, the hard way

folks

here's a view of the aircraft dump at Gosselies Airfield, Belgium, in 1945

several P-51 hulks (most prominent is a 67th TRG 107th TRS F-6C, code AX-) - note fuselage, with wing lying inverted on top of it - several P-51 tail cones, another P-51 fuselage at left among P-47 wings, another P-51 fuselage at right, P-38 booms in the center, a stripped B-17 in the rear....

I gotta stop, my eyes hurt..... :shock:

My Dad was with the 67th. TRG, 109th TRS, coded VX.
