I saw a brief video clip on the TV news last night showing the aircraft on the USS Lexington being tied down extra tight.

Hopefully, the storm will hit further down the coast and not wail on Galveston too much.

Cheers!

Well it looks like they've changed the projected path again. If it stays towards CRP, the better Galveston and Houston could be. Looks like storm surge could get the west end of the island though. Well see!

The forcast models have changed (for now) for the worst. Showing the eye coming closer up the coast towards Freeport. this isnt good for Galveston or Houston! :?

How are things going for getting everything serviced and flyable Trae? What's the inland destination this time?
Hang some scrapiron and cinder blocks on the MiG and the COD!

San Antonio's definitely buckling down. I heard that the CAP is moving planes towards Midland, and then back down for recovery efforts - probably to SSF. We're trying to figure out how to get all of our aircraft to fit into the hangar.
I drove through two military convoys on the way home.

Looks like the CAP aircraft are going to Tyler, Kerrville, and a couple to Denton.

Actually, the forcast is showing that it'll still be a Cat II when it's near Austin, so the guys at Fort Hood probably do have something to worry about as it'll probably still be a Cat I there and a Tropical Storm as it passes through DFW. This will be a very strong and quick moving storm when it makes landfall Saturday, so it's not unreasonable to expect significant damage to occur as far north as Waco just from the storm (and not any tornadoes that might spin up because of it).

I think Carla in 1961 held hurricane force winds all the way to Austin and was a tropical storm until it crossed the Red River into Oklahoma...

Looks like they are going to try and get some aircraft out today. I live north of Houston and Im not heading down that way since most of the coast is evacuating. Winds forcasted in my area are 80-100 mph...
Im wondering if the F-100 is going to make it through this time.
