Pics of the NMUSAF while I am trying to be artistic

Wed Sep 03, 2008 11:22 pm

Some one else on here gave me the idea of taking some high angle views of the aircraft. So I gave it a shot my last time down there. I also tried a few other things. I hope you like them.

Very Nice!

Did you use a monopod to get the "overhead" shots? What type of camera/lens did you use?

Great shots, mustangdriver; especially #6 and #8 - can't get enough of those inter-war birds. Thanks!

Great job Chris! Dang I wish I could get some of my pix to come out as clear as yours...not to mention how well you used the lighting 8) Have you done any manipulating to these pix or are they as you took them? If you have not done anything to them, you must have one sweet camera!

Great job :drink3:

Thanks Steve, I used my Nikon D-40 with a standard kit 18-55mm lens. I did use the tripod, and for the overhead ones, I just set the timer and ran it up as far up as it would go..

Yeah, they are doing work on it now. The exterior has been really cleaned up, and repainted. Now comes the interior stuff,

Man, that place looks familiar...where is it again?

*snicker*

Chris, I've wanted to 'nerd it up' a bit over there for several years, but I've only been there with my kids recently. When I come over to see the restoration shop, I'm gonna bring some different stuff, and play around with seriously short depth-of-field as well. I've got a 50 1.4 and an 85 1.2 that would be a tonna fun to goof with.

I hear you man. I nerded it up that day, with a tripod and two lenses. It was just me and my recent partner in crime. We just spent the day taking pics, and she enjoyed it. Something she had never done before. Look me up when you are going on the tour. Let me know ahead of time, and I can maybe meet up with you.
