Galveston's F-100

Hi all
My proposed trip to South Florida was a complete failure. I ended up in Texas!
I flew into Houston and stayed in Galveston.
I managed to get a morning pass to get to “Lonestar”. As you all know it’s a fantastic museum! I will highly recommend it to anyone

I will bore you with my pictures of the F-100 on a pole. It was quiet nice to see an F-100 in SE Asia colours with drop tanks and a re fuelling probe. On closer inspection she is in a bit of a state. I know it’s nothing to do with Lonestar but it is a shame that the airport doesn’t pay them to give it some attention.

If "wrong way Corrigan" had ben using airline staff consessionary travel, god knows where he would have ended up.
Any way at least I got the right continent!
I enjoyed Texas and will TRY to go back next year. I don't think I stared at the B-58 enough

Whom ever is responsible for the maintenance or lack of it, probably considers the "rust" as color, and the Co-Rosen hole as flak damage.

Unfortunately the responsible party is lLone Star. The loan of the F-100 happened at the same time as the B-58. They both came from Ft Worth.

Inside, very nicely placed below the upper level viewing spot. I've wondered why the crewmembers names
were removed? You can still see the 'ghost' image of thier names on the NMF.

Now that is a slap in the faces of the crew. Yes, it would be nice to put them back on the aircraft, after all, these were probably the last "Assigned" crew to pilot this example of the "Hustler" Sharp, sharp....Sharp aircraft

Mellow out there Gary..it's been November since I saw her last. Can't remember if it was the support
crew 'ghost' names I viewed..tho I suspect not. However, being that the B-58 was probably THE most demanding
machine in support requirements..they should be there in remembrance.

I've heard it bantered about, that the Hustler ground support equipment and electronics support cost more than
the aircraft per a/c! We probably could have driven the Soviet Union into economic failure much sooner, if we had
supplied them with an air force of B-58's.

Funny, but true...I have yet to see a Hustler website run by a former Crew Chief, I'm pretty sure
they just want to forget the whole experience!!
