Here's one for the PB4Y friends...


Here's an interesting shot of a Canadair Sabre 4 that was supposed to go to the RAF but was redirected temporarily to 422 SQN RCAF. It had a long and storied history serving with the RCAF, RAF, and the USAF.

The fellow in the hero shot was my father.


Here's a neat shot of the working end of the Sabre... I like the flame pattern.



And finally one more... The Sabres were never known to have "clean" exhaust...

I've got a few pictures of the Lancs that he did take as well. I've got some great pictures from the navigator's bubble of one of them while he was a passenger while flying to Bermuda. I'll see what I can do about posting a few of those...

PeterA... I agree with you WRT the condition... I was amazed on the condition that they are. They've survived a barracks fire, being moved at least 10 times and being stored in my mother's basement for the last 30 years. I've been trying to at least capture the current condition before trying any cleanups as I have over a thousand slides to scan in and it takes about a minute a slide... Coffee anyone?

PB4Y-2 is from VP-24 out of NAS Patuxant River. Permanent Det in Argentia, Newfoundland. Photo possibly 1954. Transitioned to P2V in 1956.
