Hi all,

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Warbirds Unlimited Foundation's North American B-25H Mitchell "Barbie III" will be flying into Denver, CO on Tuesday, July 15 2008 at 4:00 PM at Centennial Airport basing from Denver Jet Center. We will have the aircraft on-location for the remainder of the summer and will be leaving in September to come back to Mesa.

We will be offering flight experiences in the B-25 each weekend... $375 donation per person. The owners of the Perfect Landing Restaurant at the airfield will also give each rider a free breakfast or lunch with each donation.

If you are interested in flying with us, please call Dick Jones at 800-357-6561 to book a flight.

From personal experience, this plane is BEAUTIFUL. The fact that it's the only 75mm cannon nose H model flying is one thing, but the interior restoration is simply amazing as well...

Ryan,

Looking forward to seeing Barbie at KAPA. I will send out an email tonight to let our Airpower West Members know, and lets see if we can set a tour stop ride record.

Any CO WIXers up for a meet-n-greet at the Jet Center to check out Barbie?

Scott, email sent to APW members, hopefully will have a nice turnout today to meet Dick Jones and the rest of the Barbie crew as they arrive.

Took my ride on Barbie III at Centennial yesterday and it was a fantastic flight, with Dick Jones at thelm. The plane is in absolute top form, the volunteers all deserve Medals of Honor for the hours they have put into the restoration project for this one of a kind plane.

As a photographer, this was another dream come true. A P-51 Flight, a B-17 Flight (a total of 8 different B-17's in the last 12 years, and with Aluminum Overcast which will be my last on B-17's, it is time for the younger folks to take over now), and the B-25H.

Below is a link to the photographs I took, and simply hit slideshow on Flickr and enjoy.

Airpower West will be having a pot luck this Saturday @ 12:00. WIXers this will be a fun opportunity to come out get some chow, mingle and hangar talk with the Centennial-based warbird community, you do not need to be a member, just bring a side dish. PM for directions to the Jones' hangar if needed.

Hi Ryan,
I was unable to attend on the July 18 meeting due to my work schedule.

I know the Jet Center normally does not have people walking about on the flight line during the day.
I am very eager to take pictures of this aircraft close up. Will there be tours available of the aircraft later this summer?

Best Regards,

Yup, every weekend we'll be giving rides and tours. If you want to, you can give a buzz to Dick Jones at 800-357-6561 and arrange a good time to come out if they are out there as well. Hope that helps!

Ryan

I had breakfast at Centennial's restaurant on the 17th and saw the signs all over the place... But I was flying back home on the 18th...

Too bad.
