Here is graphic images from the 2006 crash of a Aussie army blackhawk on a LPD ship. It was due to a fast approach and the expected results happens.

Has the US army had any problems like this with hot fast landings? Ive seen a few videos of US blackhawks crashing due to close formating... it all comes down to weather/pilot error or mechanicals most of the time.

Hi Sabredriver! *waves*

Back when they were transitioning from Hueys, there were a lot of pilots who let the Hawk get ahead of them. Those old W4's just couldn't adjust. But the new crop seems to be doing just fine. Landing a Blackhawk on a carrier is a mighty dicey pproposition at the best of times. Pilots do run after run befor ethey are allowe dto practice it on teh real thing, and even then the Army tries not to do it.
